When it comes to the style of the dining room decor, most often people think of minimalism and high-tech, modern and loft. However, these solutions are sometimes too formulaic and boring. The solution is to decorate the interior of the dining room decor in the oriental style.

Stylistic branches

The oriental style is distinguished by elegance and refinement. For this reason it is so attractive. However, for the same reason this format is very complex. Even many experienced designers do not take up its use. A mistake, which in another style would be almost imperceptible, in the oriental design will be striking.

It should be borne in mind that the single name “oriental style” should not be misleading. After all, it comes from a vast region of the world with a very rich and diverse centuries-old traditions. There are several stylistic directions of interior design.

Arab

In the design of the dining room, the Arab style is expressed:

  • bright colors;
  • natural materials;
  • traditional ornaments;
  • lush decorative objects.

Authentic Arabic style is very rarely used in European countries. It is more appropriate to talk about the expression of ideas about this design variant. Decorators try to add to the environment motifs that promote relaxation and tranquility. The use of juicy colors is obligatory. No less important is the use of a large number of textiles, even when decorating the walls.

Chinese

The Chinese room differs from the Arabic room with less opulence, but a greater emphasis on philosophy and worldview. This solution is suitable for those who seek to express their inner world in the dining room. Ultra-modern technological solutions and materials associated with them are categorically unacceptable. But the paper wallpaper and decorative plaster with paintings fully comply with the canon. Important: some paintings are deeply symbolic, and their subjects should be chosen responsibly.

Japanese

The Japanese interior design of the dining room also deserves attention. It is characterized by conciseness and simultaneous clarity. This Japanese room is always strict, as prepared for battle samurai.

As for materials, they in Japanese rooms are invariably chosen with an emphasis on the naturalness of origin and appearance. No objects with very complicated ornate forms should be used. The only exception is left for wall panels. It is advisable to use tatami mats. Important: Authentic Japanese mats have “squares” with split corners – this is the traditional mythology.

Classic solutions for the interior in the Japanese spirit can be very diverse. However, in any case, they express the concept of balance of yin and yang. Finishes are necessarily made with natural textures. The interior uses:

  • engravings;
  • ikebana;
  • vases;
  • caskets in island style;
  • paper floor lamps.

Indian

It is quite rare to find an Indian style dining room decoration. This ethnic design option has been changed and adjusted many times. In the past it was simple and functional, but today a proper Indian dining room should be refined and luxurious. Characteristic features will be:

  • bright colors;
  • wooden furniture made by hand;
  • carved screens;
  • wrought-iron and ivory inlays;
  • teak beds, tables;
  • textiles with floral patterns.

The use of aromatic sticks and dried plant incense helps to further deepen the authenticity of the composition. Colors range from soft peach to rich purple or turquoise. Make the room more luxurious with gold or mother of pearl walls. The ceiling is decorated with multilevel structures with the addition of textile canvases.

Korean

Another branch of the oriental interior is the Korean style. Like other styles originating from the foreign Far East, it is characterized by a minimalistic format. A mandatory feature of this approach is to fill the room with air and save as much free space as possible.

Korean classics involve the use of strictly one paint without patterns. It is allowed to use:

  • light gray;
  • pale pistachio;
  • light white;
  • pale yellow.

Classical Korean style implies the use of images of crane, deer, pine. Even more attractive they will look on black furniture. It is advised to use:

  • embroidered silk or silk fabric;
  • expressive picturesque panels;
  • replicas of calligraphic compositions;
  • fresh decorative flowers.

Design variations

The description of styles is endless. But it is much more correct to look at specific options for their embodiment. The photo shows an exquisite dining room in the Arabian spirit. Multicolored sofas, a table imitating a fountain, a ceiling lamp with pendant decor add opulence. Adaptation to European interiors is expressed in the use of painting on the wall (painting is known to be strictly censured by Islam).

But here we have a very different, Japanese approach. Large hieroglyphs are used in the decoration of one of the walls. Low furniture of modest shades fully fits into the stylistics. Comparatively small amounts of decor are used. A mirrored multilevel ceiling only adds to the charm.

Approximately like this may look an exemplary dining room in the Chinese vein. Its developers tried to use old-fashioned furniture made of dark wood. Curved elements and traditional ornaments only add color. Symmetrical lamps with elegant lampshades express the orderliness typical of Chinese tradition. The bright back wall proves to be a very good backdrop.

An Indian dining room with a red wall can look just like this. Elegant dark wood furniture corresponds to the general direction of oriental interiors. Geometric ornaments on one of the chairs add grace. The very light floor makes up for the excess of dark tones in other parts of the room. As in the Chinese style, clear symmetry is maintained.

This is how an exemplary Korean dining room might look like. A very light color prevails, one wall, in general, is decorated in pure white. Boardwalk floor and small paintings on the walls add authenticity. For the same purpose are used mats and cushions. Designers took care to maximize natural light.
